PSE&G on Sunday it is still working to restore power to 3,950 of its customers -- several hundred in Bergen and Passaic counties.
Here are the areas that remain without power as of Sunday afternoon:
- Cliffside Park: 1,000 customers
- Englewood Cliffs: 540 customers
- Hawthorne/Haledon: 100 (approximate)
A handful of customers in Woodcliff Lake, Montvale, Bergenfield and Garfield/Lodi.
Less than 100 JCP&L customers are without power in Wayne.
Most of the company's customers who lost power as a result of the first storm were restored Saturday night. The majority of the remaining 22,000 will have their power back tonight, the company said.
"More than 6,200 utility personnel -- line workers, hazard responders, assessors, forestry crews, job dispatchers and electrical contractors -- are working tirelessly to return these customers to service," JCP&L said.
The restoration process has been a massive undertaking, involving:
- Restoring more than 500,000 of 523,000 customers to date
- Replacing more than 700 poles and 1,800 spans of wire
- Opening more than 2,300 roads closed to down trees and wires
- Setting up four staging sites in Essex, Hunterdon, Morris and Sussex counties
Orange& Rockland Electric dispatched more than 1,200 workers to restore electricity to approximately 5,000 customers since Thursday.
Thousands remain without power in Allendale, and hundreds in Wyckoff/Oakland.
Other impacted areas include Park Ridge/River Vale (104), Tenafly/Alpine (200+), and parts of New York.
The company promised power would be restored by Sunday night.
